Gladys Lopez serves as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Norton Healthcare, the second largest local employer.
In her role, Lopez oversees all human resources activities for the 18,000 and growing-employee organization, including equity, inclusion and belonging, talent acquisition, workforce development, operations, compensation and payroll and benefits.
A respected attorney and human resources executive, Lopez has 20 years of experience in human resources management, labor relations, health care, public administration and nonprofit management.
Previous positions include chief human resources officer, Cook County Health and Hospitals System; director of human resources, Provident Hospital of Cook County; and senior director, employee services and workforce development, Heartland Alliance; all in Chicago, Illinois.
Lopez earned her doctorate in law from DePaul University College of Law, Chicago, Illinois, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She serves on the boards of the Louisville Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Fund for the Arts.
