I joined the Louisville CEO council so that I could work with my peers and colleagues in the greater Louisville area on new and innovative ways to deliver care across the continuum. It is exciting to work with industry leaders who have the common goal of care delivery that is transformative and at the forefront of a constantly changing healthcare environment. We are focused on improving outcomes and quality for all citizens in all of the communities that we collectively serve.
As a community and as a country, we face considerable healthcare access, affordability, and quality challenges, particularly for our aging population. The only way we’re going to overcome these challenges is through innovation, cooperation, and communication among all parts of the healthcare system. Over 1.9 million Kentuckians access Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s provider networks. Our support of LHCC reflects that we are an integral part of the Louisville health care system and economy and wholeheartedly support its growth.

I joined LHCC because I believe that aging innovation will change the face of healthcare in the future. As leaders of organizations that drive the delivery of quality healthcare in our country, I believe we have an obligation to be part of the collaborative work necessary to set new standards and drive innovation as the needs of healthcare evolve. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, I am honored to be a part of a local team that will help set the stage on a national level, as a catalyst for the advancement of one of the most important issues of our time.
The healthcare industry is one of the last remaining industries to be fully transformed as a result of technological advancements and changing consumer preferences. But change is on the way. The system as we know it today is unsustainable in terms of affordability and complexity. My prediction for healthcare in the next 5–10 years is that it’ll look very different than it does today. It’ll be a simpler and more personalized experience for healthcare consumers, just like what they’ve come to expect in other parts of their lives, and the industry will be more oriented toward quality outcomes, addressing the whole-health needs of an individual, including healthcare and lifestyle. As the movement gets underway both nationally and in the Louisville community, it’s an exciting time to be in healthcare and no better time to take a leadership role in shaping its future. It’s for these reasons that I joined LHCC.

I joined LHCC for the opportunity to bring about change in the global healthcare aging-innovation sector. The value of having the CEOs of some of the largest healthcare companies in the world in the same room discussing the challenges we as a nation face in healthcare will have long-term impact on the future of healthcare. Joining the council allows me to cultivate and grow this organization from its infancy, and I am excited to be a part of the group that solidifies Louisville as the healthcare aging innovation capital of the world.
